Your wall weight limits will differ depending on the wall substrate, from 20KG/M2 to 200KG/M2.
What is a wall substrate?
Substrate refers to the underlying layer. In this case, the wall that will support your tiled surface. A substrate is a common term used in the construction and renovation sectors.
So understanding the surface you are tiling onto will help you pick the correct tiles for the weight of the wall.

These are approximate weight limits, Check with the board supplier for their recommending tiling limits.
It’s not just the weight of the tiles
Remember you need to include the weight of the grout and adhesive. As a rough guide add 3KG/M2 to your calculations to cover that.
